The Werribee Tour

The Victorian Chapter is very pleased to announce a one day tour in Werribee, Victoria.

The morning will start off at 10am to view a very impressive and extensive collection of  Australian furniture and Australiana. The owner of the collection will provide a guided tour of this major collection housed at private premises in Werribee.

light lunch will be provided at this location.

In the afternoon, the tour will visit Werribee Park Mansion in Werribee South. Werribee Park Mansion was built in 1877 by the Chirnside family, wealthy Victorian pastoralists. The mansion with 60 rooms spread over several wings is built in the Italianate architecture style and has undergone extensive restoration. Many of the Chirnside family’s items, including clothing and furniture remain with the mansion.

The tour of Werribee Park Mansion will be led by Terence Lane, independent art historian and writer; former Senior Curator of Australian Art at the National Gallery of Victoria.
