PROGRAM SATURDAY 4TH JUNE 10am

Meet outside Experiment Farm in Ruse St Harris Park. Experiment Farm was built c1835 by surgeon John Harris on land originally granted to James Ruse. There is a good collection of early colonial furniture we will hear from knowledgeable experts.

It is a short distance to Hambledon Cottage at 63 Hassall St Harris Park to view the house and collection, led by members of the Parramatta Historical Society. The house was built by John Macarthur on Elizabeth Farm land in 1824 as additional accommodation for family and friends.

A sandwich lunch in the cottage grounds will be provided and we then proceed to Elizabeth Farm Cottage, at 70 Alice St Rosehill and within sight of Hambledon Cottage. This was the original home of John and Elizabeth Macarthur (1793) and complements our recent visit to Camden Park. The house is one of Australia’s oldest homes
