Visit to the workshops of WJ Sanders, silversmiths

Please join us for a tour of the workshops of silversmiths, WJ Sanders & Co.

WJ Sanders is the last surviving workshop of its kind and they handle an amazing array of items made of precious metals, including the fabrication of major trophies such as the Melbourne Cup and ecclesiastical metalware. As well they offer an inclusive repair service to all metal antique wares and members will be familiar with their advertisements in Australiana. The premises have been in operation since 1911 and still practise traditional methods of smithing which makes this invitation a unique opportunity for members to watch such work in progress.

Date:    Tuesday, 26 July.

Time:    9.45am for 10.00am (tour will be approx. 1 hour. Please meet outside the entrance)
